On arrival in school, each boy is placed in a mixed ability tutor group with a form tutor who teaches a tutor programme of Personal and Social Education as well as dealing with administrative matters.

There is a Head of Year with responsibility for each year group, one of whom is Head of Lower School with oversight of Years 7, 8 and 9.  The team of Sixth Form Tutors is led by a Head of Sixth Form who liaises closely with his counterpart at King's Norton Girls' School in management of the Sixth Form Centre.
