"People & Their Needs'

Imbalances in the quality of W between countries, employment structure, economic growth, aid and investment, farming systems, changes in agriculture, the location of manufacturing industry, tourism, economic change, energy sources and demand.

 

"People & The Environment"

The extraction of raw materials, the tropical rainforest ecosystem land use conflicts in national parks, water pollution, acid rag the greenhouse effect.

 

Specific Skills :

As year 10.

 

Assessment: Grade awarded for achievement, effort and presentation with target. See student's exercise book for details. Percentage and GCSE grade given for tests.

ParentaI Support / Extension Work.

Creation of a portfolio of newspaper / magazine cutting on topics covered, watching, discussion of topical T. V programmes, recording BBC2 and Channel 4 "Schools " programmes including BBC 2's " Bite Size revision " provision of an atlas, use of OS maps on holiday, creation of a dictionary of key terms, testing knowledge of key terms.
