King’s
Norton
Boys' has a tradition of sporting excellence in Football and Basketball.
The year
2002-03 was an excellent year for our football teams with the Year 7
team
winning the District Cup final, the Year 10's winning the King's Norton
and
South Birmingham League and the Year 11's also being triumphant in this
competition. We also had a number of boys who went out to represent the
District
football sides, Aston Villa, Cheltenham Town and Birmingham City.
The
Year 7
side was also successful in Basketball - winning the Birmingham
Championships.
The Year 9's, after winning their league, reached the semi-finals of the
same
competition.
The
Hockey
team were also victorious in winning the Selly Oak Championships and
qualified
to represent the district at the Birmingham Youth Games.
The
Year 8
Indoor Athletics side again won the Selly Oak Championships and came
fifth in
the Birmingham Championships at the National Indoor Arena.
Cricket
again
proved to be a popular event with the Year 9 team winning the league.
A
comprehensive
Inter-form programme is offered to all year groups which includes:-
Football,
Basketball, Cricket, Athletics, Table-Tennis, Badminton, Swimming,
Hockey and
Tennis.
GCSE
and A’
Level Physical Education are examination subjects offered to Year 10-13
in which
the school has enjoyed great success.
