After a fantastic run of form in the King's Norton &
South Birmingham District Cup competition, our Year Eight Football Team
reached the final against Colmers Farm; who had previously beaten
KNBS in the League. Birmingham City FC's Wast Hills Training
Ground played host to the evenly contested match. Colmers Farm
were dominant in the first half and KNBS allowed them to steal a
goal through a gap in the defence. A strong team talk at half
time woke KNBS up and the players soon started showing their grit
and determination and spent long periods in Colmers' half.
Intense pressure from our players paid off when Stuart Cottrell
powered in a header from a delightful ball to make the score
even. At the end of normal time the match entered
extra-time. Both teams came close to clinching the winner but
the full time whistle blew to signal the end of the match and the
sharing of the trophy and title.
