The following points are made about the use of computers at home to support your sons education.

  • Teachers will be pleased to receive some homework printed on paper rather than written.
  • Using a computer for homework is never expected as it would not be fair to those without the necessary facilities.
  • The computers at school are available out of lesson time. Your son should try to take advantage of this.
  • The use of a word processor for the drafting of work is recommended. It is much easier to develop and refine the final presentation from this.
  • The use of spell checking facilities will greatly aid your child's ability to check and correct his own work, and to learn from his mistakes straight away.
  • A desk-top publishing package will enable your son to produce work with a professional appearance that will encourage him to be proud of his achievement.
